Hailing from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Kendra Washington now works as an Algorithm Engineer I for Edwards Lifesciences. She is thrilled she gets to apply her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and minor in Computer Science towards developing hemodynamic monitoring technologies and improving patient outcomes. Kendra received a prestigious four-year, full-ride Stamps President’s Scholarship to complete her undergraduate degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology. During those years, she conducted research in mudskipper blink mechanics, deep learning for ultrasound image segmentation, and later lung microfluidics models. Kendra graduated with Highest Honors while also enjoying volunteering with a student-led service organization known as Circle K and dancing in the African Student Association. Now in Irvine, she hopes to explore more of Orange County via hikes and good food.
